Country Road is an iconic Australian brand that has used its quiet elegance to great effect. The initial communication was to transform a concrete shell into a Country Road flagship store in a prime Sydney retail location. The brief was for the space to be light and airy and the shopping experience to be pleasant and memorable. This was to be achieved through great design, intelligent construction and a level of finish that reflected the aesthetic sensitivity of Country Road’s discerning consumers.

The transformation of the space involved collaboration and flexibility from all stakeholders involved in the project. With any complex, high-end project, modifications in design and time pressures are expected. With a broad spectrum of specialist contractors, the space underwent significant development to ensure the design brief was met.

A new structural steel mezzanine level was installed and finished in Australian hardwood timber flooring along with an engineered toughened glass balustrade. Structural steel stairs were installed to link the ground floor, mezzanine and first level.

White Ardit floor levelling compound was applied to the concrete floors, resulting in a unique design finish. The new shopfront had to be specially engineered using toughened glass panels, with a four-panel sliding glass door.

The inspirational finish in true flagship style was delivered on time and on budget with very positive feedback from Country Road Head Office. This store joins the many national stores ISIS has completed for this customer.
